«ROAD SAFETY EVENT AT PERNERA SCHOOL 2016»

Starting this year’s Road Safety campaign to elementary schools, CNP ASFALISTIKI supported the event organised by the pupils and the teachers, of the Pernera Elementary School, on February 18th.

Within the framework of its Corporate Social Responsibility, CNP ASFALISTIKI, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Culture, join forces in order to strengthen their effort in educating students on road safety issues. Starting this year’s Road Safety campaign to elementary schools, CNP ASFALISTIKI supported the event organised by the pupils and the teachers, of the Pernera Elementary School, on February 18th. The event was held under the auspices of the Minister of Education and Culture, on the theme: «Whatever my ride, I insist on road safety rules».

The objective of this annual event is to create awareness and the appropriate culture as regards to road safety, for the children to understand and adopt its important role in their lives. This common effort which is applied to Pernera Elementary School, aims at fostering future drivers based on the terms of mutual respect and road safety knowledge.

This year, the following activities were sponsored by CNP ASFALISTIKI with the approval of the Minister of Education and Culture:

  • Purchase of Four tablets for students group work, on Road Safety digital software, so as to build up the development of road safety awareness.
  • Purchase of two CD Players where road safety messages will be transmitted during various events and school breaks, so as to strengthen the road safety awareness.
  • Creation and printing of a three page booklet and other informative material for the students about the relevant subject,
  • Establishment and granting of awards for participants in Road Safety competitions announced by the School Administration,
  • Purchase of books, pictures and various games to further enrich the Road Safety Corner in the School’s library,
  • Costs coverage of taking the students with buses to the Police Road Safety Park,
  • Organisation of a seminar for the students by neighbourhood traffic policemen, about safe movement to the road network, on a theoretical and practical level,
  • Cover the cost of the event reception
  • Providing ruler to the students.

The event was addressed by the General Manager of CNP ASFALISTIKI Mr. Andreas C. Stylianou, on behalf of the Minister of Education and Culture, the Inspector of Primary Education, Mrs. Rodoula Theodorou, the Police Traffic Department Inspector, Mrs. Eleni Alexandrou and the Headmistress of Pernera Elementary School Mrs. Maria Demou.
